Introduction to Clinical Research Course
I am pleased to announce
that the Clinical Research Center is again
offering the predominantly online course
entitled “Introduction to Clinical Research.”
This course has also been approved as a Graduate
School course: CLTR 5000 Graduate Seminar
in Clinical and Translational Research (3
credits).
The on-line
course will run over a period of three months,
starting in mid-September 2012. This
course will provide an introduction to clinical
research for students, residents, fellows
and interested faculty. Participants will
be expected to view a series of 22 on-line
lectures and meet with faculty approximately
every four weeks to review the materials covered
in the on-line lectures and develop a research
proposal through a series of homework
assignments. The meetings with faculty
will be held on Thursdays from 3:00-5:00
PM on the following dates:
9/13/12, 10/11/12, 11/1/12 and 11/29/12.
The meetings will be held in the Surgical
Research Center Conference Room, L-1099, at
UCHC. There will also be required
readings, homework assignments, peer-review
protocol review, and a final exam.
The
registration fee for the course is $300.00 if
you sign up through the Clinical Research
Center.
Acceptable modes of
payment are a personal check made payable to
UCONN Health Center or a transfer voucher
from the sponsoring department. If you
register via the Graduate School (PeopleSoft),
the cost is based on the Graduate School’s
standard fees and tuition rates.
Registration
closes on Friday, August 31, 2012, with payment
due by Friday, September 7, 2012.
